In 1981, as a Galatasaray Lycée junior, Yasemin was awarded first place in the high school category of the Turkish Airlines national painting competition themed "Atatürk and Civil Aviation," which was organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Atatürk's birth. She has been invited to attend National Art Academy by the jury president professor.
In 1978, at the age of 15 while attending Galatasaray Middle School, Yasemin won the national Yapı Kredi Art Award, presented by Vedat Nedim Tör, president of the YKB Art and Culture department. The momentous occasion of her receiving the award was broadcast on TRT Television as a national Yapı Kredi advertisement featuring the declaration "YKB supports art."
